St. Anthony of Padua Church
The Woodlands, Texas
An analytical needs assessment, programming, master planning, and design/documentation services for the new, 17.5-acre parish of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and includes a new 1,500-seat sanctuary, 75-seat day chapel, parish hall, classrooms, administrative office suite, a new school for K-8 grades, gymnasium, athletic playing fields, and playground. Hierarchically, the church is placed at the ceremonial and processional head of the campus, flanked on either side by the parish hall, church offices, religious education classrooms, and school. The design of the church personifies the directives of the Second Vatican Council and at the same time connects to 2,000 years of traditional Catholic church building.
