St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church
The master plan and design for a new parish of st. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, set on 25 rural acres in Hempstead, Texas was based on an aesthetic that incorporated the goal of preserving a rural setting and utilized design elements and material which connect to the Texas vernacular. The project consists of 2 phases. The first provides a new 600-seat sanctuary with expansion capabilities, a 40-seat day chapel, a 7,200-square foot Parish Hall, and related site work nestled in a rural setting. The second expands the Sanctuary's seating capacity to 1000, provides a new administrative building, multipurpose building, open athletic pavilion, and athletic playing fields.
